You can support the Arts in Birmingham—and get a chance to win one of the hottest, smartest vehicles on the planet! For the next two months, you will have many chances to enter this fun contest! After the Get SmART Finale Event on November 5, one lucky donor will be the new owner of their very own smart fortwo. The most fuel efficient, non-hybrid, vehicle on sale in the U.S. at 41 MPG HWY (MSRP: $13,766.) Now what could be smarter?

See The Car

We'll unveil the smart® car at inter·ART·ive on Thursday, September 17. Then, you can join the fun as it speeds through Birmingham making stops at new locations each week. Our friends at Mental Floss have created a cool new website, www.wheresmysmartcar.com, where you can see clues about the car's weekly location and learn about great prizes at each stop.

How Do You Enter?

There are 3 ways:

  1. Buy a ticket to the Get SmART finale event on Thursday, November 5.
  2. Become a member of the ASC-Junior Patrons [302K PDF]
  3. Make a new donation of $50 or greater to the ASC.

What Happens At The Get SmART Finale Event On November 5?

Well, a lot.

  • You can mix and mingle. Enjoy complimentary hors d'oeuvres and beverages. Brag about your SAT scores.
  • There will be live music from one of Birmingham's best bands, The White Oaks.
  • You can test your beer knowledge with the blind beer tasting. Come on, you know it'll be fun.
  • Remembering that "good things come in small packages," you can buy a Smart Mystery Box for $25. All boxes will contain cool prizes, and some will include really big prizes like tickets to shows, dinner packages, weekend getaways, and more.
  • And, at the end of the night, one donor will go home as the owner of the new smart® car!

To Win You Have to Demonstrate Your Skills

Three finalists will be drawn at random from all entries on the evening of the Get SmART Finale Event on November 5, 2009. The smart® car will be on display in the lobby and filled with numerous quantities of one item (for example, the car could be filled with coins, or water bottles, or keys, etc.) The three finalists will be asked to give the best estimate of how many items are in the car. The contestant whose number is closest to the actual number of items in the car will be the winner of a 2009 smart® car. In the instance of a tie, the remaining contestants will take part in a tie breaking event. (Maybe subject to change, and any changes made are at the discretion of the event committee.)
